Excel to TreeAge

Hello, I want to make sure if it is possible to open an Excel sheet in TreeAge and start working on it?

  • We don't recommend working on your model in Excel as you can edit anything in the model within TreeAge Pro.

What are you trying to do in Excel?

There are lots of options to connect TreeAge with Excel. If you can provide more details of what you want to do we can provide you information about how to do what you need.

  • Thank you for your reply, I have a model built on Excel and I want to do the PSA using TreeAge instead of Excel, so I want to open the Excel with the model on via TreeAge to be able to start doing the PSA

  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to run an Excel model within TreeAge Pro. If you want to use TreeAge Pro's PSA analysis, you must build the model within TreeAge Pro.

Its not hard to build a model in TreeAge. We offer great support and all the analysis you do frequently are quick to run - such as PSA. Reach out if you need some assistance building models in TreeAge. Happy to help.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will start doing it and if I face any challenge I will reach out for help. But as a start I will be building a dynamic markov model, how can I incorporate the incidence of the disease into the model health states?

Thank you again for your help

  • We don't know how your model will be structured, so it is hard to say.

You might be the initial probabilities under the health states. Those control the initial counts/percentages in the states.

You might also use an Entry node for adding to the population.

If you have further questions, please use support via support@treeage.com rather than the public channel.

There are models within the Examples which may help you get started too. Within the Example Models > Healthcare folder look for models called Dynamic Cohort - Markov Cancer, Dynamic Cohort - Infectious Disease and there is also a similar model related to parallel trials (synchronized trials progressing through the model).
