Removing a curve (data series) from a chart

This particular example looks at removing a data series from the CE Acceptability Curve generated through running a Probabilistic Sensitivity Analysis. This technique could potentially be used to edit other graphs in a similar way.

The following instructions can be used to remove a line representing a treatment option in the CE Acceptability Curve.

1. When the graph has been generated (from the PSA Outputs), open the Edit Chart link on the Right Hand Side. The Edit Chart dialogue has three tabs: Select Chart Type, Select Data and Format Chart.

2. Select the Format Chart tab. On the left hand side in white space, select the heading Series (and not the subheadings which says "Value Y Series" etc).

3. In the main area of the Format Chart Tab, scrolling to the bottom, you should be able to select the Series Palette button.

4. In the Series Palette, there will be a "list" of colors which are used for the lines in the chart. One of these colors should correspond to the color of the series you want to make "invisible".

5. Select the color for the series you want to make invisible (lets say it was Red) and use the drop down link at the side of the Red color to change the color of that series to White. (If you actually selected to removed the color Red from the palette, the software will just select the next color down in the palette for the series). Then close the Series Palette (just use the "X" in the corner when you are done). This step removes the line.

6. To remove the markers on the line, go back to the white area on the left hand side of the Edit Chart dialogue. This time select the Value (Y) Series from below where you selected Series before.

7. In the main area of the Format Chart tab there are two things to check. First ensure the color for the markers is set to White. There is a box there which is called Color and just use the drop down arrow to select White (instead of the default Black). The second thing is to ensure that the box next to "Use Series Palette as Line color" is checked.

8. Apply these changes and then select Finish and the line (which was Red) should be gone.
