Half-cycle correction

In previous versions of treeage, a half-cycle correction could be implemented  by selecting the pencil on the markov node tab and selecting half-cycle correct. This would change the markov costs and rewards to o.5* xxx (for example 0.5* CostVariable). This pencil no longer appears on the markov node. Does selecting traditional half-cycle correct on the markov tab of "Edit Preferences" do this (even though 0.5* xxx does not show up)?

  • I still see the pencil, but note that you must first select a Markov Health State for the pencil to be visible. In addition, you must select one of the state reward labels for the pencil to be enabled.

The Tree Preferences option does not automatically apply half-cycle correction, but leaves the Markov rewards in the traditional entry method which allows for half-cycle correction. However, the Within Cycle Correction option applies a different algorithm to account for applying cycle-base rewards. Within that algorithm, there is no need for half-cycle correction.

  • Thank you! I was selecting the main markov node rather than the health state. That fixed it!

  • Excellent! the node context is very important when considering what will be included in the Markov Info View.
